Sherburne County Announces Comment Period and Public Meeting for Haven Township Sand and Gravel Mine
Haven Township, Minn. – Sherburne County is announcing a 30-day public comment period for the Scoping Environmental Assessment Worksheet, a Draft Scoping Decision Document, for the proposed Haven Township Sand and Gravel Mine beginning on November 26, 2024 and ending at 4:00 p.m. on December 26, 2024.
The proposed Haven Township Sand and Gravel Mine involves the development of a new sand and gravel mine on 683 acres of land located in Haven Township. Mining operations will include the removal of vegetation, topsoil and overburden and sand and gravel extraction, processing (crushing, washing, screening), recycling asphalt and concrete, stockpiling, loading, hauling, and site reclamation.
This project requires an Environmental Impact Statement, and the Scoping Environmental Assessment Worksheet is the first step in this process. The Worksheet is used to identify potentially significant issues which will be addressed in the Environmental Impact Statement.
