Update January 16th 2025 Planning Commission at Sherburne County

The Haven Board of Supervisors need your help to share your thoughts about the EIS ( Environmental Impact Statement ). This is the 1st of many steps before any Sand and Gravel mining can be applied for from

Holcim-MWR, Inc.  

Sherburne County Planning Commission Held a hearing on January 16th, 2025 about the Haven Sand and Gravel EIS Scoping Document.  This is a study to determine the impact to the area that would be under a mining permit issued by Sherburne County from  Holcim-MWR, Inc.

The commission sent up to the Board of Commissioners  that they should order this study to be completed.  It is now the vote of the Board to order the Study.  Below is the name of all the members on the board.  They all have a vote and need to hear from Haven Residents.  We have provided both phone and email contact information.

The Haven board of Supervisors can comment but we do not have the final vote.  The board of Commissioners of Sherburne County hold that vote and deny or approve the permit to mine over 680 acres in Haven Township.

Haven Township Sand and Gravel Mine EIS Scoping-Holcim-MWR (Property Owner Aggregate Industries-MWR INC): Request recommending approval to the County Board of the scoping decision document establishing the intended scope of the Environmental Impact Statement that will identify the issues and alternatives that will be examined in depth in the EIS. PID #25-00019-4100, 25-00029-2101, 25-00020-2000, 25-00020-1200, 25-00029-2100, 25-00020-1300, 25-00020-3102, 25-00020-3000, 25-00017-4200, 25-00017-4205 and 25-00030-1101.

Legal Desc: NW 1-4 subj to Easement (full legal on file). Sec 17, 19, 20, 29, 30, Twp 35, Rge 30. 683 acres in the

Agricultural District.

The hearing of these requests is not limited to those receiving copies of this notice, and if you know of any neighbor or affected property owner who for any reason has not received a copy, it would be appreciated if you would inform them of this hearing. Recommendations made by the Sherburne County Planning Advisory Board may be subject to further action by the Sherburne County Board of Commissioners.

Recommendations that are forwarded to the County Board from this public hearing are anticipated to be heard at a County Board of Commissioners Meeting, in February of 2025 at a date and time to be determined, in the County Board Room located at the Sherburne County Government Center.
